Wenger - We've turned corner
Gunners boss knows the demands to win every game
Wenger: Feels Arsenal have now turned the corner after a difficult start to the season
Arsene Wenger believes Arsenal have now turned the corner following a difficult opening month to the season and is confident his team will stay on the right path.
The Gunners failed to win in their opening three Premier League games after following up a 0-0 draw at Newcastle United with a 2-0 home defeat by Liverpool and an 8-2 thrashing at the hands of champions Manchester United.
Wenger responded to the Old Trafford mauling by making a flurry of new signings before the transfer deadline and saw his team scramble to a 1-0 win over Swansea City last weekend.
The UEFA Champions League group phase started with a 1-1 draw away to Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday and Wenger feels his team are now heading in the right direction.
Spirit
"We feel we have turned the corner, but we will be judged by the consistency of our results," said Wenger."Inside the club, we feel we are on the right track, the spirit in the team is good, strong and together.
"We want to change the scepticism around us, but that will only be if we are consistent with our results. Let's get result after result, stick together and not talk too much.
"We have a desire, the strength and the quality - it's now just down to us to put the effort in every single game. I am confident we can do that."
Arsenal head to Blackburn Rovers on Saturday and Wenger is aware that his players have to cope with the expectation of trying to win every match.
The Gunners boss added: "We must win. We live in an environment that questions us when we don't win. We do not criticise that and have to live with that.
"We have to show performances, consistency and attitude quality, that makes us respected. It is as simple as that.
"That is why it is as important that we do not talk too much and play as well as we can."
